These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website at www.thelockexchange.co.uk and the lock fitting services we provide across Greater London. By booking or using our services you agree to these terms in full.

2. Our Services

We provide professional lock cylinder fitting services across all 32 London boroughs. Our services include the supply and fitting of Diamond-rated and TS007 3-Star certified lock cylinders for residential properties.

• All work is carried out by our trained, insured engineers.
• We supply and fit only locks that meet Sold Secure Diamond or TS007 3-Star standard.
• Final pricing is confirmed on-site after measuring your door. Our advertised prices are indicative and may vary depending on door configuration and cylinder size.
• We do not guarantee that any lock or security product will prevent all break-ins. Our locks are independently tested to the highest available UK standards.

3. Bookings and Deposits

To secure an appointment, a refundable £25 deposit is required, paid via Square Payments at the time of booking. This deposit is deducted from your final invoice on completion of the fitting.

• Your booking is confirmed once payment is received and acknowledged by us.
• We will contact you within 4 business hours (Monday to Saturday, 8am to 8pm) to confirm your appointment details.
• Appointment slots are subject to availability. We reserve the right to offer an alternative date and time if your preferred slot becomes unavailable.

4. Cancellations and Refunds

Please see our Refund Policy for full details. In summary:

• Cancellations made at least 48 hours before your appointment will receive a full refund of the £25 deposit.
• Cancellations made within 48 hours of the appointment may forfeit the deposit at our discretion, depending on circumstances.
• If we cancel or reschedule your appointment for operational reasons, a full deposit refund will be issued promptly.

5. Pricing and Payment

All prices on our website are in pounds sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable. The balance of the service fee is due on completion of the fitting, payable by debit or credit card via Square Payments. We do not accept cash on-site.

We reserve the right to update our prices at any time. The price applicable to your booking is that confirmed at the time of booking.

6. Our Liability

We carry £1,000,000 public liability insurance. Our maximum liability to you in connection with any service is limited to the total amount you have paid us for that specific service.

We are not liable for: damage to your property caused by pre-existing conditions or structural defects; loss of earnings; consequential loss; or any indirect or special damages of any kind.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

7. Your Responsibilities

• You confirm that you are the owner or authorised occupier of the property, or that you have the legal right to have the lock changed.
• You must provide accurate information about your door type and lock requirements at the time of booking.
• You must ensure safe and unobstructed access to the property for our engineer at the agreed appointment time.
• You are responsible for the safekeeping of all keys issued following installation.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos and images, is owned by or licensed to The Lock Exchange Ltd and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute or use our content for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.

9. Third-Party Services

Our website integrates with Square Payments and Square Appointments to facilitate bookings and payments. Use of these services is also subject to Square's Terms of Service. We are not responsible for the availability or performance of third-party platforms.

10. Privacy

Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using our services you acknowledge and accept that policy.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page with the date of last update at the top. Continued use of our website or services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
